Distance Measure

In astronomy, the most commonly used measures of distance are the light-year, parsec and astronomical unit.

Astronomical Unit (A.U.)

An astronomical unit (A.U.) is the average distance between the Earth and the Sun, which is about 93 million miles or 150 million kilometers. Astronomical units are usually used to measure distances within our solar system. For example, the planet Mercury is about 1/3 of an A.U. from the Sun, while the farthest planet, Pluto, is about 40 A.U.

Light-Year (ly)

Most objects in space are so far away, that using a relatively small unit of distance, such as an astronomical unit, is not practical. Instead, astronomers measure distances to objects which are outside our solar system in light-years. A light-year (ly) is the distance that light can travel in one year in a vacuum (empty space). The speed of light is about 186,000 miles or 300,000 kilometers per second. So, in one year light travels a distance of about 5,880,000,000,000 miles or 9,460,000,000,000 kilometers or 63,240 A.U.. This distance is 1 light-year. For example, the nearest star to us is about 4.3 light-years away. Our galaxy, the Milky Way, is about 150,000 light-years across, and the nearest large galaxy, Andromeda, is 2.3

million light-years away

In the evenings to follow, the comet will rapidly climb higher in the sky On July 22, NEOWISE will make its closest approach to the Earth, a distance of 64 million miles (103 million km). By July 25, the comet will appear 30 degrees ('three fists') up from the west-northwest horizon as darkness falls. And on July 30-31st, the comet will be passing just to the north of the fine star cluster of Coma Berenices, or Berenice's Hair."

The black hole outburst was probably caused by a large hydrogen cloud up to 100,000 times the Sun's mass falling onto the disk of material swirling near the central black hole. The resulting outburst sent cones of blistering ultraviolet radiation above and below the plane of the galaxy and deep into space.
The radiation cone that blasted out of the Milky Way’s south pole lit up a massive ribbon-like gas structure called the Magellanic Stream. The flash lit up a portion of the stream, ionizing its hydrogen (enough to make 100 million Suns) by stripping atoms of their electrons.

Today the world is facing financial turmoil, inflation, shortage of commodities, unhealthy competition, natural calamities, division amongst peoples and nations which are adversely affecting the business community. But amid these tribulations, the Lord wants to prosper His People who build His kingdom, according to Malachi 3:10,11 "Bring all the tithes into the storehouse so there will be enough food in my temple. If you do" says the Lord Almighty, "I will open the flood gates of heaven for you. I will pour out a blessing so great you won't have enough room to take it in! Try it! Let me prove it for you and I will rebuke the devourer for your sakes."

God desires to open the floodgates of heaven and bless the business houses and those who are involved in doing business as well as to rebuke the devouring devil who brings loss, prospering those who have been sending their offerings to His ministry which is bringing blessings for His People.

Physical space is often conceived in three linear dimensions, although modern physicists usually consider it, with time, to be part of a boundless four-dimensional continuum known as spacetime. It is not an easy thing to measure the distances to objects in the universe since these objects are usually very far away. We can't just run out there with a ruler! To measure distances in the universe, we will need to construct what is commonly referred to as a "cosmic distance ladder". In other words, astronomers use different methods to determine the distances to objects; the specific method which is used depends on how far away the object is. The links below will take you to descriptions of various common methods.

v = H x d

where v is the galaxy's radial outward velocity, d is the galaxy's distance from Earth, and H is the constant of proportionality called the Hubble constant.

The exact value of the Hubble constant is still somewhat uncertain, but is generally believed to be around 65 kilometers per second for every megaparsec in distance. (A megaparsec is given by 1 Mpc = 3 x 106 light-years). This means that a galaxy 1 megaparsec away will be moving away from us at a speed of 65 km/sec, while another galaxy 100 megaparsecs away will be receding at 100 times this speed. So essentially, the Hubble constant reflects the rate at which the universe is expanding.

So to determine an object's distance, we only need to know its velocity. Velocity is measurable thanks to the Doppler shift. By taking the spectrum of a distant object, such as a galaxy, astronomers can see a shift in the lines of its spectrum and from this shift determine its velocity. Putting this velocity into the Hubble equation, they determine the distance. Note that this method of determining distances is based on observation (the shift in the spectrum) and on a theory (Hubble's Law). If the theory is not correct, the distances determined in this wa

Black holes are composed of many oceans, numerous star constellation, cyclones, storms, chemical interactions, magnetic, and electrolytic waves, light beams dust which are sucked through its funnel-shaped mouth superior Black Hole are responsible for the creation of the earth-like planet harboring life

Exoplanet  most like earth Earth to Kepler 452b distance both of 1,4000 light-years,..... Kepler size 1.6 times the size of the earth

Scientists can't directly observe black holes with telescopes that detect x-rays, light, or other forms of electromagnetic radiation
